It's not that the art isn't as good, just different. t fits better the more cutesy atmosphere of a date imo

I think the main difference between the series and the this gaiden is pretty much how they execute the finishing of the page.

The main series has a series of spot blacks and fine contour lines and which made it look solid and badass while this gaiden is composed of tones (which reminded me of deleter tones) to complement with the subtle linework boichi has made. I think he's trying to do a shoujou feel here, but correct me if i'm wrong.
