Alternative names:

Great Teacher Onizuka: Shonan 14 Days

GTO - Shonan 14 Days
GTO: Sh?nan 14 Days

This is the sequel to the manga GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka). This takes place directly after the Teshigawara arc. If GTO is arguably one of the most influential milestone in the manga industry. GTO ran for 25 volumes. And after GTO ends, the great teacher Onizuka continues to rock the stage in GTO: shonan 14 days!.

After Eikichi Onizuka was shot by former teacher Teshigawara, he was sent to the hospital. Shortly afterward he escaped, and then spent 14 days that no one knew about. Strangely enough, when he returned, a wanted poster appeared with a man that resembled very much like Onizuka. What exactly did he do during these 14 days? Following the series now will give you the answer!
Spoiler:
Spoiler for Hidden:
After participating in a nation-wide gathering of educators, where teachers were asked about their experiences in teaching and to share some of their tales, Onizuka accidentally lets slip the fact that he once tried to bury a student of his whom he believed he had accidentally killed.

Becoming a public enemy and being chased by educators and police alike, Onizuka returns to his home town of Shonan, planning to lay low for 14 days. Upon returning, however, he happens upon a home for teenagers who were abandoned by their parents or who had run away from home. Once again Onizuka becomes involved in gang-related activities, misunderstandings and false accusations while trying to save the teenagers he meets from the otherwise dangerous roads ahead.

In Japan, GTO: shonan 14 days has run for 6 volumes and still ongoing! The next volume should have been out like 1 month ago (today is 1st August, 2011), however, because of the Tokyo Bill effect, the volume's release date has been delayed... The reason being whether GTO: shonan 14 days falls under the category of shounen and/or seinen manga. That's why, even though the manga is still being serialized in Shounen magazine, the release of the volumes is under debate.

The good news is that GTO: Shonan 14 days has been licensed for release in English by Vertical.

Hi,

Are you planning to release any more of the  GTO Shonan 14 days chapters?

I've just received my copy of Volume 7.  I also have the release of volume 6 if that helps?

A.

The rest of the chapters are currently being worked on; the next release should be soon.
Don't take the things I say too seriously. Or literally. I don't speak in absolutes.
Everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt. It'll make both of our lives easier.
