I could agree with ecchi and romance and with no yaoi, shounen ai or gender bender, but where in the world can you find a shoujo manga (which are directed at young girls) depicting a male lead with lots of females usually attracted to the guy?... you could only find them in seinen, shounen or sometimes, josei if i may add. You're looking at it all wrong.

Too bad, a LOT of what could be considered great mangas are shoujo mangas.

It's all about taste. What you consider a "great" shoujo manga, I'll probably see it as crap.
